When it comes to marketing your business on the internet, if you “aren’t there” you don’t exist.

Statistics show that approximately 26% of all surfers click on the 1st organic search result, dropping to 4.7% for the 2nd organic result, 0.39% on the 9th result, and 1.2% on the 10th result. In addition, only about 2-5% of surfers have a look at page 2 of the search results.

What this means is that you really do need to be on page 1 in order to succeed on the internet. Anything less, and you’ve failed.

It’s quite easy to be #1 for your company name, or for a phrase like “SEO is a science, based on tried-and-true techniques” (we are #1 and #2 for that), but in a competitive market, there will always be key phrases that you want to rank in the top 10, but which are dominated by old, large or well-optimized websites. The question is whether you have a chance to beat them?

And if so, what will it take?
