Good point you bring up, which is why I always use the full http://www.debi-z.com in emails, links, etc.
The “without www” is aimed more at people who type the domain into their browser, and want to do it quickly, or don’t remember whether it has www or not.

I learned something important from my (our) friend Shimshon Young of http://www.excellenceweb.com/

Not only is the www important, but http://www.
is important as well. Some emails will not pick up and automatically turn it into a link unless you do this. While an extra seven or eleven characters might bug some people, and makes it that many more characters for you to slavingly type, it usually is not bothersome to readers imho and making sure that I (a reader) can click on a link instead of copypasting (ugh!) is the winner for me.

You are more of SEO expert than I am, but I wonder if having static content above the fold is the best practice. Given, I use a 10 inch screen..
